Our Story
Doyle Wood Flooring was founded in 1975 by Philip Doyle Sr. in Halifax, Massachusetts. Built on a belief in honest work and craftsmanship, the company began as a small, family-run operation that quickly earned a reputation for quality and integrity across the South Shore.
By the mid-1980s, all four of Phil Sr.’s sons — Phil, John, Mike, and Jeff — had joined the business, learning the trade from the ground up. Together, they carried forward their father’s commitment to quality while modernizing the tools, techniques, and systems that would define the next generation of Doyle Wood Flooring.
Over the years, the company expanded its reach and reputation through dedication, teamwork, and family values. The opening of the Halifax showroom in 2004 marked a new chapter, giving customers a hands-on way to experience Doyle craftsmanship.
In 2019, the Cohasset showroom followed, further strengthening the company’s presence on the South Shore. Most recently, the Duxbury showroom opened in 2023, continuing the Doyle legacy with a fresh, modern look and a commitment to exceptional service.
In December 2020, Phil Doyle Sr. officially retired, passing the torch to his sons, who continue to lead the company with the same pride, attention to detail, and work ethic he instilled decades earlier.
Today, Doyle Wood Flooring stands as a testament to family, craftsmanship, and community — a company built to last for generations to come.

1975 – Doyle Wood Flooring founded by Philip Doyle Sr. in Halifax, MA.
1980s – Phil Jr., John, Mike, and Jeff join the family business, learning all aspects of sanding, finishing, and installation.
2004 – Halifax showroom opens, marking the first dedicated retail and design space.
2019 – Cohasset showroom opens, expanding the company’s reach on the South Shore.
2020 – Phil Doyle Sr. retires after more than four decades of leadership.
2023 – Duxbury showroom opens, representing the next generation of the Doyle legacy.
2025 – Doyle Wood Flooring continues to thrive as a family business built on craftsmanship, integrity, and tradition.
